Note on Product Variations

Sizes are approximate and intended as a guide only. They may come a little wider or longer. Wood is a natural product that responds to temperature and humidity variations by expanding and contracting. Sometimes these changes may be noticeable in the physical appearance of the product. The conditions of your home can affect the wooden products you buy from us. We advise you to keep the product in consistent, stable conditions to minimise the effects of temperature and moisture change in the atmosphere. For example, avoiding placing the product too close to heat sources such as a log burner, leaving in a hot conservatory or a damp shed will help to ensure the longevity of the product. Over time, and subject to extremes of temperature, it is sometimes possible that tacks may loosen or fall out. To avoid injury, check your trug regularly and carefully hammer down anything that protrudes.  If in any doubt, contact us for advice or to do it for you if local. The appearance and qualities of pieces of wood can vary even when taken from the same tree. We cannot offer or guarantee uniformity of grain, colour or tone. Variations in colour, lines, knots and staining all go to make up the unique individual qualities of the product. Our images are used to demonstrate the general style and quality of the products but each trug will inevitably have small differences which we hope you will embrace as making it totally unique.
